7, 2000 - The McGraw-Hill Companies’ (NYSE: MHP) Construction
Information Group today named Tharyn L. Aiken vice president, technology
and chief information officer for construction.com, the most comprehensive
online marketplace for construction professionals. Ms. Aiken will
report to Ken Michaels, chief operating officer of the Construction
Information Group.
This appointment illustrates CIG’s commitment
to growing its position as the market leader for content and services
for architects, owners, engineers, contractors and building products
manufacturers. Ms. Aiken will be responsible for developing and
implementing business operational strategy, creating approaches
to leverage the effectiveness of products/services for customer
retention and satisfaction and designing enterprise-wide methods
for supporting technology and process innovation.

Previously, Ms. Aiken spent two years at Citicorp where she held
a variety of senior positions including Vice President and Director
of Technology for Citicorp Real Estate and Vice President and Director
of MIS/Sales Planning and Development for Citibank FOCUS. Earlier
experiences include two years of IT management with the Coca Cola
Bottling Company of New York and a management consulting position
at Touche Ross & Company.
Ms. Aiken holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science and a
concentration in economics from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
in Troy, New York.
