NEW YORK -- October 16, 2003 -- Engineering News-Record (ENR), McGraw-Hill Construction's comprehensive weekly resource for construction industry information, and part of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP), will host its 7th Annual Construction Summit to bring together some of the world's most influential buyers of design and construction services. Public and private sector building owners and top-level executives from a cross-section of the construction industry will meet at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC on October 21-22, 2003.

ENR's Construction Facts: the Sourcebook of Statistics, Records and Resources is the definitive source for vital information in the construction industry. Want to know what is the tallest building ever moved by man, what is the largest current construction project, or how many carpenters there are in the United States? Need statistics on U.S. Construction, relative size of major U.S. industries, or the number of housing Starts? Trying to find out who are the notable people who have made a difference in the industry? Facts and statistics like these, as well as references to key government officials, associations, and organizations, make this sourcebook unique and valuable for years to come. It will be available in the fourth quarter, 2003.

In November, ENR also will dedicate two of its weekly magazines to help contractors, engineers, building product manufacturers and others to identify key industry players: the Top 425 Building Owners and the Top 600 Specialty Contractors. These annual listings make these issues very popular.

McGraw-Hill Construction connects people, projects and products of the industry, through the information and intelligence available in ENR, Architectural Record, Dodge, Sweets, ten Regional Publications, and its Network, which puts this information on anyone's desktop. ENR has been covering the industry and making a difference in the lives of its players since 1874. Its staff, which includes many award winning journalists, report on the news and analyze trends to help construction industry professionals - including owners, engineers and contractors - to stay informed and make key decisions.

"This is a very exciting time for us," stated James H. McGraw, IV, McGraw-Hill Construction group publisher. "With our annual ENR Construction Summit, new ENR's Construction Facts sourcebook, and highly-regarded listings of key industry players, we're fulfilling our mission of setting the standards for connecting industry players and providing them with the information and intelligence they need to do their jobs successfully."
