Steve Jones to Present McGraw-Hill Construction Research and Solutions at ICC’s BIM Applications Webcast on Sept. 15

Media invited to learn how BIM is advancing design, construction and the plan review/approval process

WHAT: The International Code Council (ICC) is hosting a free, live webcast from its 2008 Annual Conference, “Building Information Modeling (BIM) Applications Workshop.” Steve Jones, Senior Director at McGraw-Hill Construction, will present highlights of McGraw-Hill’s initiatives in BIM, Interoperability and Integrated Project Delivery, and best practices for developing alliance relationships with major companies and organizations for technology and content, during the “Web-based Applications for Selection of Building Products in BIM” session.

WHY: The vision of BIM as the global standard for all design, construction, and operations critically relies on an ability to electronically extract relevant information from one or more core design models. In order to realize that vision, the objects with which the core design models have been created need to provide sufficient data. McGraw-Hill Construction is working with building products manufacturers, international standards organizations, and innovative software companies to facilitate creation of and access to BIM content of building products and is looking forward to sharing lessons learned with attendees of the ICC conference and webcast.

WHEN: Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, 2:30 – 5:30 p.m. (EDT)

WEBCAST LINK: http://www.iccsafe.org/webcast.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Media who cover the design and construction industry are encouraged to attend. This webcast will also benefit code officials, designers, contractors, building owners, first responders, professionals associated with the building design and construction process, as well as others focused on data access related to existing buildings facilitated by BIM.
