Platform Replacement, ADA & Overhead Catenary Modifications

INTRODUCTION: Amtrak intends to accept letters of interest for this solicitation which is an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Project. Responses are to include qualification information that is requested/stated below. Amtrak, at its sole discretion and without discussion, will determine which Contractors are to be added to its bid list. DESCRIPTION: Remove and replace two high level platforms at the Northend of Providence Station including platform lighting. Furnish & Install Over Head Catenary Structure Foundations and Truss per contract documents. Remove three existing Portal structures and deliver to Amtrak. Provide all station ADA modifications per contract documents.
The project cost is estimated at $1.M-$2.M with construction duration to be at final completion on or before February 17, 2011.
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualification will be based on demonstration of:
a. Comparable GC project experience with similarly priced projects
b. Qualified list of experienced construction personnel.
c. Demonstrate experience in a Railroad environment
d. Minimum 5 years relevant experience
e. QA/QC program.
f. Safety program and proven safety record
g. Financial resources/capability/bonding
Please limit letters with brief narratives addressing the above qualifications to no more than ten (10) pages.
Letters of Interest and accompanying correspondence must be received by COB (5:00 PM local time) on November 13, 2009. It is anticipated that a solicitation for this procurement will be issued during the fourth quarter of 2009 and that a contract will be awarded in the first quarter of 2010.
