Architectural Record Announces 2011 Excellence in Advertising Awards
New York – May 17, 2011
Architectural Record, McGraw-Hill Construction’s prestigious publication, has presented its 15th Annual Excellence in Advertising Awards to 30 companies and agencies. The awards breakfast hosted over 250 architects, manufacturers, editors, marketers and industry leaders in New Orleans on Friday during the AIA 2011 National Convention and Design Exposition.
“Sometimes it’s easy to forget that we are the people building the schools that educate our kids, the hospitals that care for our communities, and one of the reasons that New Orleans continues to be a thriving city with some of the most beautiful architecture in the world,” said Keith Fox, president, McGraw-Hill Construction, addressing a room full of honorees. “Congratulations to all of you-- the best of the best.”
More than 150 advertisements that ran in the first quarter of 2011 in Architectural Record in print and online and in the January/February issue of GreenSource were considered for the awards. Winners were judged for content and graphic presentation by a jury of 14 esteemed architects from across the country, representing the breadth of the profession.
“Effective advertising is essential to your success as marketers, and well-designed ads are essential to our readers,” said Laura Viscusi, publisher of Architectural Record. “Today’s 30 winners stand out and have been heard by architects. The best advertising doesn’t just reach its audience, it resonates with it.”
