Jennifer Coskren
Senior Economist
McGraw-Hill Construction Analytics
Jennifer Coskren is a Senior Economist in
the Construction Forecasting Group at MHC Research & Analytics,
a business unit within McGraw-Hill Construction. She has more
than 8 years of professional experience in construction economics,
macroeconomics, statistics and real estate research.
At McGraw-Hill Construction, Ms. Coskren
is the economist responsible for maintaining and improving the
national and regional construction models for the Construction
Market Forecasting Service (CMFS) - the flagship product developed
from the national forecast. In addition to model development,
Ms. Coskren writes an analysis of trends in commercial property
construction (office, warehouse, and hotel sectors) within CMFS.
She also provides commercial construction forecasts and analysis
at the metropolitan area level for MHC's product, the Metropolitan
Construction Insight, and contributes to McGraw-Hill Construction's
ENR magazine. Jen's most recent contribution to the Research &
Analytics group is a comprehensive special study on the office
market, entitled, A New Lease on Office Construction.
Ms. Coskren was a member of the former Dodge
Analytics' Real Estate Analysis and Planning Service (REAPS) and
served as Regional Manager for the West South Central and East
South Central regions. Prior to returning to McGraw-Hill in 2001
as part of the Construction Forecasting Group, she was employed
by Bain & Company, where she did market research and statistical
consulting.
Ms. Coskren obtained her Master's degree
in Business Economics at Bentley College in Waltham, MA and graduated
magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Regis
College in Weston, MA.
Ralph Gentile
Senior Economist
McGraw-Hill Construction Analytics
Ralph Gentile is a Senior Economist with
the Construction Forecasting Group of MHC Research & Analytics,
a business unit within McGraw-Hill Construction. He has more than
20 years experience as an economist, including 5 years teaching
at the university level.
Dr. Gentile first joined MHC as part of the Regional Forecasting
Group in 1989 where he analyzed real estate markets and provided
forecasts for selected metropolitan areas. He moved to the National
Forecasting Group (which later became the Construction Forecasting
Group) in 1995. He now serves as lead economist for the public
works and utilities side of the construction industry.
Ralph's research includes contributions
to understanding of how Dodge planning data can be used in the
forecasting process. This work not only led to new forecasting
systems and methodologies for MHC Research & Analytics, but
also to numerous papers and research reports for the academic
and research communities. In 2001, the American Real Estate Society
awarded Ralph and a co-author its Urban Land Institute Manuscript
Prize for work in this area.
Dr. Gentile received a B.A. from Haverford
College in 1973 and was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of
Pennsylvania in 1981. Prior to joining McGraw-Hill Construction,
Dr. Gentile was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University
of Massachusetts (Lowell).

Kim Kennedy
Manager of Forecasting
McGraw-Hill Construction/Dodge
Kim Kennedy is the Manager of Forecasting
for McGraw-Hill Construction Research and Analytics, a business
unit within McGraw-Hill Construction. She has been a staff member
of MHC for seven years, but has 25 years of professional experience
in construction economics, macroeconomics, consumer, and labor
economics.
At McGraw-Hill Construction, Ms. Kennedy
directs a staff of four economists and serves as the Product Manager
for the Construction Market Forecasting Service (CMFS) - the flagship
product developed from the construction forecast. In her tenure
at MHC Analytics, she has ushered in a major redesign of this
flagship publication and has helped develop several new products,
including the Metropolitan Construction Insight (a quarterly report
analyzing and forecasting construction trends within the top 35
metropolitan areas across the U.S.) and a series of Special Studies
that provide an in-depth look at selected building types. The
first three Special Studies launched covered office, education
and healthcare topics. The most recent product developed under
her leadership is a Canadian Construction Forecasting Service
that provides a five-year outlook for the nation, provinces, and
Canada's five largest metropolitan areas.
In addition to her managerial responsibilities,
Ms. Kennedy writes construction outlook articles on housing and
retail construction in CMFS. She contributes to both the Construction
and Housing Report (a monthly newsletter of the latest construction
economic news) and the Metropolitan Construction Insight. She
is also a frequent spokesperson for the MHC construction outlook,
presenting information about the latest trends and forecasts to
industry groups and associations. She often provides interviews
with newspapers, radio, and other media on construction topics.
Prior to joining McGraw-Hill, Ms. Kennedy
was with Cahners Publishing Company (later called Reed Business
Information) where she was a Senior Economist and later Associate
Director/Director for Cahners Economics. Earlier in her career,
she was a Labor Market Economist with the Massachusetts Governor's
Office of Economic Affairs. She obtained her Master's degree in
Economics at Northeastern University in Boston, where she was
also a teaching fellow while earning her degree.

Robert Murray
Vice President Economic Affairs
McGraw-Hill Construction
Mr. Murray joined McGraw-Hill in 1980 as
an economist,with a primary focus on analyzing construction industry
trends. In the mid-1980s he directed a team of economists that
developed the Construction Market Forecasting Service, providing
five-year projections for 22 building types by nine regions of
the U.S. This product has subsequently become the pre-eminent
forecast of the nation 's construction industry, and it serves
as the foundation for other construction and real estate forecast
products offered by the Dodge Analytics Group.
Mr. Murray is the author of the Dodge Construction
Outlook ,and also coordinates the five-year industry forecast,
and the Construction Market Forecasting Service, which analyzes
national and regional trends for building products. He received
his bachelor 's degree from Princeton University, and holds both
an M.B.A. and a Master 's degree in economics from Columbia University.
