Providing Platforms
for Transformational Diplomacy
In today's globalized world, the Department
of State's active engagement of the international community reflects
the U.S.' dedication to global cooperation and diplomacy. Sharing
this commitment, the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO)
has dramatically increased its embassy and design construction program
to facilitate the promotion of U.S. interests abroad. Over the past
6 years, OBO has completed 36 New Embassy compounds, has 40 projects
under management and will have awarded 4 more New Embassy Compound
projects by the end of the calendar year. The importance of the
public-private partnerships and a strong partnership between Industry
and OBO is paramount for sustaining America's worldwide diplomatic
presence.
Representatives from over 900 companies
participated in first-ever matchmaking session with Department of
State/OBO representatives, in addition to 9 prime lead business
match-makers.
