Prior to joining Bentley Systems, Bentley founded and served as CEO of Devon Systems International, Inc., a provider of financial trading software. In 1987, that company was acquired by SunGard Data Systems, Inc. Mr. Bentley served as a director of SunGard, one of the world's largest IT vendors, from 1991 until its $11-billion+ going-private transaction in 2005.
Bentley earned his bachelor's degree in decision sciences from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in finance from the Wharton School. He is a member of the board of overseers for the School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania and is a trustee of the National Building Museum.

As director of national accounts for the International Data Group, Paul developed this global tech publisher’s first integrated media network, and has been a media sales leader for Fairchild, Penton and Ziff-Davis media companies with experience spanning business-to-business to special interest consumer markets. Throughout his career in information and media services, Paul has been a strong and consistent advocate for driving digital transformation and innovative marketing.

Stephen P. Darnell

Steve Darnell joined FMI in 1979 and was a founding member of the firm’s mergers and acquisitions group, now FMI Capital Advisors, Inc., which has completed more than 700 engineering and construction industry acquisitions since inception. He has served in various management and corporate governance capacities through the years. Darnell’s major consulting activities include growth strategy development, valuation and transition planning, and merger/acquisition advisory. He has written numerous articles and spoken on international involvement in the U.S construction industry, acquisition integration, and industry trends.
Darnell has been instrumental in developing the North American business platforms for major international E&C organizations. He has also worked with the internationalists in acquisitions and divestitures in Europe, Asia and South America and represented a number of landmark industry transactions.

Andy Ewens

Mr. Ewens joined AMEC in 2009. In January 2012, he was appointed Group Engineering Director for AMEC having previously been Engineering Director for Natural Resources Europe and West Africa. Following the AMEC restructuring in October 2012, in addition to his Group role, Andy has taken direct responsibility for Engineering in the Americas.
Mr. Ewens has 30 years experience in the energy industry with operating companies and contractors, and has worked in a wide range of areas including major capital projects as well as supporting operating facilities across the world. His experience covers engineering and project management, general management and business development. He has worked on offshore and onshore projects in the UK, Middle East, North America and the CIS.
As Group Engineering Director and Head of Engineering for the Americas, his focus is on contributing to sustainable growth at AMEC by:

Keith Fox was named president of McGraw-Hill Construction in March of 2010. Keith leads an organization dedicated to serving design and construction professionals, government agencies, industry associations and adjacent market professionals, through its unique portfolio of business data and intelligence, and media offerings.
Under Keith’s leadership, McGraw-Hill Construction’s portfolio including Dodge, Sweets, Architectural Record, and Engineering News-Record, has shown improved performance and has broken new ground by transitioning from a data provider to business intelligence powerhouse. Over the past 12 months, the organization has launched business intelligence platforms, such as Dodge SpecShare and Dodge BuildShare, to help customers analyze and size their markets, target and build relationships, gain competitive insights and win more business. Prior to leading BusinessWeek, Keith was president of McGraw-Hill Professional Books. He joined the company in 2000 as senior vice president of marketing and business development for BusinessWeek. David McAlister holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University and is a Registered Professional Engineer in several states. In his role as Director of Corporate Development for Parsons Brinckerhoff, he is responsible for global strategic planning, marketing and mergers/acquisitions throughout the Parsons Brinckerhoff organization of approximately 14,000 employees in 150 offices worldwide.
David returned to Parsons Brinckerhoff in 2009 after a 3-year assignment with CH2M HILL to resume his 25-year career with the firm. Anil Menon

Anil Menon joined Cisco in March 2009 as President, Smart+Connected Communities (S+CC). In this role, Anil is responsible for developing the strategy and leading the global execution of Cisco’s S+CC business. Under his leadership, Cisco has quickly become the industry and thought leader, with hundreds of implementations around the globe, that are using the network as the platform to drive economic, social and environmental sustainability around the world.
Anil also serves as Cisco's Deputy Chief Globalisation Officer, helping Cisco identify and drive the development of new solutions, and business models for its customers worldwide. As the Executive Sponsor of Cisco’s Emerging Countries initiatives, he is responsible for identifying and addressing the next set of transformational opportunities in emerging countries like BRIC-M (Brazil, Russia, India, China and Mexico) and TIPSS (Turkey, Indonesia, Poland, Saudi Arabia and South Africa). Anil’s charter is to enable the transformation of these emerging countries by aligning Cisco’s technologies, and business architecture capabilities with the nations’ long and medium term developmental goals.

Prior to this, Anil was a successful academic and business consultant. He was on the graduate faculty and later was the department head, marketing faculty at the Emory University Atlanta, USA. Anil has been a Sony Fellow in Business Strategy, 1994-1996. Dr. Orr finished his PhD in Engineering at Stanford University under the advisement of Nobel laureate in Economics, Douglass North. He is recognized globally as an expert in infrastructure development, finance, and Investment; and regularly advises pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices on infrastructure and energy investment strategy.

Philip Ovanessians

Philip Ovanessians is the vice president and general manager of global procurement for Samsung Construction & Trading (C&T) Corp. Based in Seoul, Korea, he leads procurement operations outside South Korea, primarily in the Americas, Asia and the Middle East. Ovanessians previously served as manager of procurement services at Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Houston and also was director of material management at Fluor Corp. Samsung C&T ranks at no. 41 on ENR's list of the Top 225 Global Contractors, reporting that $1.57 billion of its $6.2 billion in 2011 revenue was outside South Korea. He has 20 years of global project execution EPC&M experience in all facets of supply management. Ovanessians has a passion for supplier prequalification and low cost country sourcing. Ovanessians has worked on long term assignments in the Americas, Asia, Europe (including Eastern), and the Middle East.

Paul Sheard

Paul Sheard was named Chief Global Economist and Head of Global Economics and Research for Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services in June 2012. Paul leads a team of over 50 economists, researchers and quantitative analysts responsible for the macroeconomic forecasts used by Standard & Poor’s analysts during the ratings process, critical cross-sector research projects and ratings performance reporting. He is a member of the Standard & Poor’s Executive Committee.
Previously, Paul had been Global Chief Economist and Head of Economic Research at Nomura Securities. There, he led a team of 35 economists in seven countries and was responsible for the firm’s global economic forecasts, outlooks and analyses.
Earlier in his career, Paul spent eight years at Lehman Brothers where he held a similar position and also served as Asia Chief Economist. Before that, Paul was Head of Japan Equity Investments at Baring Asset Management. He has held faculty positions at Osaka University and the Australian National University, and visiting positions at Stanford University and the Bank of Japan.
Paul is the author of several books and articles on corporate governance and the Japanese economy. His book, The Crisis of Main Bank Capitalism (Toyo Keizai Shinposha), earned him the Suntory-Gakugei Prize in the Economics–Politics Division. He is a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on the International Monetary System.
Paul received his bachelor’s degree from Monash University in Australia, a master’s degree in Economics and a Ph.D. from the Australian National University.

John E. Taylor, Ph.D.

John E. Taylor, PhD, is an Associate Professor and Director of the Civil Engineering Network Dynamics Lab in the Charles E. Via, Jr. Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech. Dr. Taylor’s research combines experimental research and agent-based simulation to examine fundamental change processes in civil engineering networks of industrial and societal importance. Dr. Taylor received his PhD in 2006 from Stanford University on the topic of innovation in inter-organizational networks and his research continues to explore the network dynamics that follow industrial and societal changes. To date he has focused on network dynamics associated with information system integration, industry globalization, workforce virtualization, and energy conservation in buildings. His research is funded by the National Science Foundation, the Construction Industry Institute, the Earth Institute, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and other public and private funding sources. Dr. Taylor is the recipient of a National Science Foundation CAREER Award and an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Industry Studies Fellowship. His research has received Best Paper Awards from the ASCE Journal of Management in Engineering, the ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, and the Project Management Journal. Prior to entering academia Dr. Taylor was the founder of two technology startups serving the construction industry and he spent five years as a project manager of heavy civil construction projects.

Janice L. Tuchman

As editor-in-chief, Janice L. Tuchman directs the editorial operations of the Engineering News-Record enterprise—delivering news and analysis online, in print and at events. She works on strategic planning and develops new editorial products, projects and issues.
Under Tuchman’s leadership, the ENR team won five prestigious Jesse H. Neal awards in March 2011. The awards include Best Profile, Best Technical Article, Best Use of Social Media, Best Range of Work and Best News Coverage for in-depth reporting on the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti. The winning entries used mixed media to bring readers video and web components as well as stories in print. For 2012, ENR is a finalist for Neals in five categories.
Tuchman is active both in the construction industry and publishing associations. Last year she was named to the National Research Council’s Board on Infrastructure and the Constructed Environment. In 2010, she was inducted into the National Academy of Construction and was appointed to the Industry Leaders Council of the American Society of Civil Engineers. She is a trustee of the SMPS Foundation and serves on the Industry Advisory Committee of the Department of Civil Engineering at Columbia University. In 2002, she became only the sixth woman to be elected to membership in “The Moles,” a prestigious heavy-construction industry leaders organization. She is a member of the editorial committee of American Business Media.
A number of groups have honored Tuchman. In 2010, she won an award for journalism from the Society of Military Engineers, North Virginia Post. In 2009, she was inducted into the Construction Writers Association Hall of Fame, and the Women Builders Council of New York City selected her as a Champion Award Winner. In 2002, she was named Woman of the Year by the Los Angeles chapter of the Women’s Transportation Society and won a career achievement award from Professional Women in Construction. She has won McGraw-Hill Corporate Achievement Awards for Information Technology and for Editorial Excellence. She also co-authored a McGraw-Hill book called Exposed Structure in Building Design.
Tuchman earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism from the University of Colorado in Boulder.

William P. Utt

William P. "Bill" Utt was named President and Chief Executive Officer of KBR, effective March 15, 2006. He was named Chairman in April 2007. KBR is a global engineering, construction and services company supporting the energy, hydrocarbon, government services, minerals, civil infrastructure, and power and industrial markets.
Previously, Mr. Utt was President and CEO of SUEZ Energy North America with responsibility for the LNG, retail energy, energy marketing and trading, power generation and development businesses. From 1995-2000, he was president and CEO of Tractebel's North American energy businesses. From 1984 to 1995, he held senior management and executive positions with CRSS, Inc. Mr. Utt holds bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia and has a master's degree in business administration from The Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia. Mr. Utt serves on the Board of Directors at Cobalt International Energy. He also serves on the National Petroleum Council, which provides advice and analysis to the U.S. Secretary of Energy. He has been chairman of the Electric Power Supply Association, as well as holding other leadership positions with that organization. He has co-authored numerous industry-related publications and has been a panelist at various academic and industry conferences and symposiums on energy-related issues.
