Tianjin – A Market You Can Not Ignore!

  • China’s State Council is ready to build Tianjin into an international port, the economic center in the North, and an eco-city within 15 years. If Shenzhen was the hottest construction market in China in the 1980s and the Pudong District of Shanghai was the one in the 1990s, then no doubt Tianjin is becoming the rising star of the next decade.
  • Backed by financial and policy support from both the national and local governments, Tianjin is carrying out a strategy that city officials call “One Shoulder Pole with Two Loads”. This strategy involves retrofitting/renovating the old city center and building the Binhai new district – two areas connected by the Haihe River;
  • The local government is set to build Tianjin into a world-class city while preserving its unique historical features. It has just completed an overall review of the planning of 119 large-scale projects. In the midst of a global economic downturn, these real opportunities in Tianjin are attracting a lot of attention from the construction industry!

Architectural Record Tianjin Symposium – An Event You Do Not Want To Miss!

  • Active governmental support and participation. This event has received strong support from the Tianjin Municipal Government, Tianjin Bureau of Urban Planning (TBUP) and other policy makers. TBUP is very involved in the event programming and the identification of cases to be presented. TBUP director Mr. Yin Hailin has confirmed to deliver a key-note speech. deputy director Mr. Shen Lei will join the panel discussions.
  • An all-star program of speakers and panelists. Key architectural firms participating in Tianjin’s development are sending their senior leaders to present case studies at the AR Symposium. Three live TV-talk show style panels will allow our guests to share view points regarding the impact of the current economic downturn on Tianjin, how to build Tianjin into an eco-city, and how Binhai new district CBD can create a distinctive identity by merging past and future.
  • A premium high-level gathering and professional symposium. This event will be attended by 150 local and international architects, planners, owners, and BPMs and moderated by the president and vice president of McGraw-Hill Construction and a deputy editor-in-chief of Architectural Record.
