Leading McGraw-Hill Construction’s initiatives in Building Information Modeling,
Interoperability, and Integrated Project Delivery is a high priority for Stephen A. Jones.
As MHC’s senior director of business development, Steve also creates alliance
relationships in technology and content with major corporations. Steve speaks widely
on the implications of these new technologies and processes and in 2007 co-authored
MHC’s SmartMarket Report on Interoperability, which has been distributed to over
200,000 industry professionals. He also co-authored the SmartMarket Report on BIM,
titled Transforming Design and Construction to Achieve Greater Industry Productivity,
which was released in December 2008.
Before joining McGraw-Hill, Steve was a vice president with Primavera Systems, a leading project management software provider to the construction industry. Earlier in his career, Steve spent 19 years in a variety of design and management roles with architecture firms. Most recently he was a principal and board of directors member with Burt Hill, one of the largest architectural/engineering firms in the U.S.
Steve is on the Board of Direction of the buildingSMART Alliance, represents MHC on the Process Transformation Committee of CURT (Construction Users Roundtable), and represents MHC on the AGC (Associated General Contractors) BIM Forum.
Lewis J. Goetz, FAIA, FIIDA

Lewis J. Goetz is President / CEO of Group Goetz Architects, PC, a Washington, DC based internationally recognized award winning architectural design firm specializing in architecture, interiors, building renovation and adaptive reuse. Lewis Goetz has significantly impacted
the architectural design profession through his innovative and forward thinking designs for the modern workplace, interior spaces, and his focused practice of architecture.
In his over thirty years of professional practice, Mr. Goetz has designed architectural spaces for some of America’s most prestigious companies and institutions, among them, ExxonMobil, NASA, Foley Lardner, World Bank, GSA, Georgetown University Law Center, Smithsonian Institution, Organization of American States, Bingham McCutchen, Lucent Technologies, AFL-CIO, Kennedy Center, Department of Commerce, and Marriott International.
His work has won numerous local and national awards including a 2008 award from the Maryland/DC Chapter of NAIOP and two National AIA Honor Awards for Interiors in 2000 and 2001. Mr. Goetz is known for his strategic thinking on architecture and workplace design and has spoken publicly in a number of forums, including IFMA World Workplace, IIDA, NEOCON and the AIA regarding organizational, technical and aesthetic issues affecting architecture and interior architecture.
As an expert in workplace design issues, Mr. Goetz was a contributor and consultant to the GSA’s “The Integrated Workplace: A Comprehensive Approach to Developing Workspace.” Mr. Goetz is quoted regularly in the national media such as Fast Company, USA Today, Bloomberg Business Radio, Architectural Record, Contract, IIDA’s Perspective, Interiors, Facilities Design & Management and other publications.
Mr. Goetz is a Fellow in both the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and International Interior Design Association (IIDA). He served as President of IIDA International (2003-2004), Chairman of the IIDA Foundation (2004-2005), and served for 6 years on the IIDA International Board of Directors. He is currently serving as Chairman of the IIDA College of Fellows 2007-2009. Mr. Goetz is also on the Fellows committee for the DC Chapter of the AIA.
Marc Goldman
General Manager of BIM, for Pinnacle Infotech
Marc Goldman has been a leader in the development of products and services in the AEC, CAD and BIM industry for over 20 years. He is currently the General Manager of BIM, for Pinnacle Infotech, the global leader in BIM modeling and content services. Prior to this role, Marc spearheaded and lead Autodesk’s multi-year and mulit-product interoperability initiative which is aimed at improving the exchange of information across and between the Autodesk family of CAD, BIM and Design applications. He was also on the team responsible for the definition and launch of Autodesk Seek. Prior to these recent roles at Autodesk, Marc has been developing services and products that have bridged the AEC and Manufacturing industries by improving the ways these two distinct, but interrelated industries share and exchange information. Marc studied Architecture and Civil Engineering at Tulane University in New Orleans.
Stephen R. Hagan, FAIA
Director, Project Knowledge Center, Public Buildings Service
and Co-Chair, Federal Facilities Council (FFC) Emerging Technologies Committee,
U.S. General Services Administration
Stephen Hagan is recognized as an industry expert and technology evangelist, focusing on the real estate, construction industries and the federal public sector market place.
Stephen has been program and project management lead for the PBS Project Information Portal (PIP) and a member of the GSA 3D / 4D Building Information Model (BIM) team. He is 2006 Chair of the AIA Technology In Architectural Practice (TAP) Knowledge Community and co-chair of the Emerging Technologies Committee of the Federal Facilities Council and on the Executive Committee of the National BIM Standard Committee.
In 2003, Stephen Hagan received the Public Buildings Service's (PBS) NCR Regional Administrators Award. The award cited continuing excellence in knowledge management in the region, including Champion of the Project Managers Architects and Engineers Guild and the PBS Project Information Portal (PIP). Also in 2003, the PIP received Honorable Mention in the Office of Government-Wide Policies Real Property Achievement Award.
In 2002, The American Institute of Architects (AIA) announced that Stephen Hagan had been distinguished with the honor of AIA Fellow. In so doing, the AIA noted:
Stephen Hagan has distinguished himself as the premier architect providing leadership and vision at the national and international level for the integration of information technology into the planning, design and construction process, benefiting the entire profession. His tireless commitment to architectural excellence through information technology has resulted in improvement of the built environment and significant advancement of the architectural profession.
The selection also noted three themes of Hagan's significant contribution to the architectural profession and the entire construction industry:

- Project Knowledge and the Federal Marketplace
Stephen currently directs the Project Knowledge Center within the Design and Construction Division at GSA PBS's National Capital Region. He is a graduate of Yale College and the Yale School of Architecture. Stephen is co-chair of the Federal Facility Council's Emerging Technologies committee. He is also a member of the National Team for the PBS Legacy Program in the PBS Academy.
Brian Krause
Regional BIM Manager, Turner Construction Company
Brian Krause is the Regional BIM Manager for Turner Construction Company’s Atlantic Region. Brian is responsible for the implementation and employee training of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (ViCon). He participates in the pre-construction planning, construction operations, and end-user turnover working principally with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Turner, and Subcontractors. Brian works with the BIM facilitating design validation, model based estimating, logistics analysis, schedule visualization, 3D model coordination, work-in-place progress tracking, and facilities management collaboration. He assists the preconstruction teams in early planning, review, and analysis within the BIM. He assists project teams in moderating the BIM coordination meetings, reviewing the BIM for clashes and conflicts between all proposed designs prior to field installation, and in updating the team with reports from the model. He helps the project teams manage the model information from initial project design through final end-user facilities management.
Brian is currently supporting the BIM and ViCon implementation for Turner on 18 active construction projects along the east coast valued at approximately $3.7 Billion. He started with Turner in 2001 as a Field Engineer and has worked his way through various field, engineering, and management positions on projects such as the Dulles North and West Flank Parking Garages, Howard Hughes Medical Institute Janelia Farm Research Campus, FDIC Headquarters at Virginia Square, Dulles Package 6 Automated People Mover Station, and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech. He is currently involved in the VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) Certificate Program at Stanford CIFE (Center for Integrated Facility Engineering), one of the first certificate programs of its kind.
