Based upon recent feedback from PDM customers and the marketplace, an upgrade patch to the Bidding Service will be implemented on May 22, 2009. The items contained in this upgrade patch, 2.9.0.8, are as follows:
Contact Management
- Bidder Notifications for Subcontractors
If a subcontractor receives an invitation to bid and then forwards his invitation to another subcontractor, the original subcontractor’s information will not be overwritten by the forwarded subcontractor’s information.
If subcontractors update their own information while registering with McGraw-Hill Construction, any information they remove during the registration process will not cause the information to be removed from the Private Directory.
- Contact Notes in the Private Directory
Currently, when a General Contractor creates a Note for a contact in the private directory, the note may only be seen by that particular GC. With the new implementation, the Notes may be viewed by anyone on the license who has access to the Private Directory.
- Select All button
A Select All button will be available for Contacts when selecting Invitees for the Bid Process.
- Customize Contact Views
You will be able to customize how many contacts appear on the page. This is especially useful for customers with larger or smaller screen resolutions.
- Contact Views
In the Private Directory, when switching the Group By navigation, or selecting a lettered (or numbered) navigation tab, the new contacts view will display its first screen, rather than that of the previous view.

For example, if you are viewing the third screen of contacts grouped by Company,

and you switch your Group By to Name, it will now display the first screen grouped by Name.

(Previously, it would have displayed the third screen.)
- Contacts Grid
When selecting multiple contacts on a page, the last contact on the page will remain in the grid. (Previously, if a large number of contacts was selected, the last contact would partially drop below the bottom of the grid.)
- Contact Entry and Edit Instability
Resolved the issue with Unexpected Errors when entering or editing contacts.
Project Management
-
Project Hosting from the Network
Users who transfer a project from the Network will now be able to delete and re-host that same project, if they wish. In addition, the restriction of allowing only the user that originally transferred the project to update or delete that project has been removed.
- Project Transfer Updates
When updating files from a transferred project, updates will now include the transfer of any new project files along with the updates to existing files.
