Q: How do I find a local inspector to come and test my home for mold?

A: The American Indoor Air Quality Council provides a certification for Certified Microbial Consultants. It requires some experience and passing a test. Their web site has a list of members at http://www.iaqcouncil.org. It is a good begining but look at their experience as the most important factor.

Thanks to Mark Goldman, who is a senior air quality scientist for Engineering and Fire Investigations (EFI), a firm that provides mold investigation and indoor air quality services nationwide. Mark can be reached at mark_goldman@efiglobal.com
