CertainTeed ToughGard® R Duct Liner Achieves GREENGUARD® Certification

CertainTeed Corporation furthers its commitment to offering sustainable building products by announcing its enhanced surface ToughGard® R duct liner has earned GREENGUARD® Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) certification. With this achievement, all of CertainTeed’s duct liner solutions meet GREENGUARD certification.

Composed of rotary-type glass fibers, ToughGard® R duct liner is primarily used as an acoustical liner in HVAC duct systems.  It also helps fight moisture and mold growth and improves the energy-efficiency of heating and cooling systems.

“This certification is part of CertainTeed’s ongoing commitment to provide its HVAC customers with energy efficient and environmentally sound solutions,” says Renee Chesler, General Manager of CertainTeed’s Mechanical Insulation Business. “ToughGard® R duct liner controls condensation, which helps improve IAQ by reducing the potential for mold growth. It also improves system efficiency, absorbs unwanted noise and resists fiber erosion during cleaning. It is a favored product and one that we are excited has met the stringent requirements for GREENGUARD IAQ certification.”

ToughGard® R duct liner has the same durable airstream surface and moisture protection as ToughGard®2 Textile duct liner. The airstream surface contains an EPA-registered antimicrobial agent, and provides exceptional resistance to tearing, puncturing and surface wear during installation and cleaning.

It is designed for systems operating at velocities up to 6,000 feet per minute (fpm) and temperatures up to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. The resilient duct liner can be easily brake-formed with sheet metal without damage and recovers all of its thickness from compression.
