How long have you been with Dodge Data & Analytics?

A long time. Let’s put it this way: Richard Milhous Nixon was still President, but not for long, when I was lucky enough to start my career at F.W. Dodge.

Tell us about your role with Dodge—how do you spend a typical day?

No such thing as a typical day, but during a typical week I will spend time talking directly to multiple prospects and clients to assist them and help Dodge grow its business. These direct prospect/client conversations will often involve our custom market research, MarketShare and/or other Dodge offerings. I also spend a significant amount of time working with the Bedford team of Dodge economists, industry analysts, and market research professionals to ensure that collectively we effectively serve, support and assist our clients in maximizing the value of their Dodge services, especially those generated from Bedford. I also will have multiple interactions with Sales Director Dave DiNitto, our Analytics Sales Specialists, Business Development Managers and/or Account Managers regarding sales opportunities.

What do you like most about your job?

Working collaboratively with the excellent team in Bedford as well as with our Sales team to help Dodge clients go to market more effectively based on the market intelligence Dodge provides.

What is your proudest accomplishment in the past 12 months?

Securing a major agreement, extending over a five-year period, with a firm that will utilize Dodge’s construction starts Dodge Reports information.

What are your priorities for the next 12 months?

Helping Dodge grow and contributing to our efforts to more effectively serve financial firms.

How would you describe the value that Dodge delivers to its customers and the construction community?

As a Building Product Manufacturer, Contractor, Distributor or Service company selling into the construction industry Dodge offers you the best way to intelligently go to market and effectively compete. Dodge’s market intelligence, be it MarketShare, BuildShare or SpecShare, combined with either Pipeline or Dodge Global Network, enables our clients to more effectively manage their operations across the board, both from a strategic perspective and tactically, i.e. through day-to-day activities that generate more immediate sales.

What are the most attractive opportunities that you see for Dodge?

To become more ingrained in our existing clients’ daily activities by offering new workflow solutions, thus securing even higher rates of renewal. These new workflow offerings include the re-launch of PlanRoom with a new user interface, better functionality and a complete bid management solution, and our partnership with STACK Technologies (cloud based takeoff solution).

What changes in the industry have you seen in your time here?

The basics of needing to connect with the multitude of players in a very fragmented industry have not changed. How this is accomplished today is totally different, given the availability of sophisticated software applications and communication technologies.

How do you spend your spare time?

Reading and building furniture.

What would you like people to know about you that they may not?

Strategic Account Manager Tom Boisvert’s father was my high school French teacher.

The success of any organization depends on the talent and motivation of its people.
