Tell us about your role with Dodge—how do you spend a typical day?

Usually I’m working directly with our clients and prospects and helping them find solutions to help them grow their business. That often includes face to face meetings, web casts, presentations, product demonstration and writing proposals.


What do you like most about your job?

I enjoy helping our sales team present our solutions to new prospects and working with our existing customers to deliver the type of world class service they’ve come to expect from Dodge. There’s nothing better in my role than coming away from a customer or prospects office and knowing you were prepared, presented well and met the challenge.


What is your proudest accomplishment in the past 12 months?

Helping the management team at Dodge evaluate new opportunities in our market to transform our business.


What are your priorities for the next 12 months?

My top priority is always to grow the business and to exceed my sales quota.


How would you describe the value that Dodge delivers to its customers and the construction community?

The value that we bring to our customers is providing project news, plans and specification intelligence and analytical tools, derived from our proprietary content. Construction project intelligence is the lifeblood of our customers and should be our number one priority.


What are the most attractive opportunities that you see for Dodge?

Creating tools and solutions geared to the mid-size contractor and small subcontractor markets. Capturing information on those key players and their projects, will give us the ability to create additional solutions for our existing customers and open new channels and new opportunities with our existing clients.


What changes in the industry have you seen in your time here?

There has been lots of consolidation within our building product manufacturer segment and with our competition. We’ve also seen new technologies take our clients into the digital age, which has required that we find more creative ways of getting our data into the hands of their sales teams, distributors, contractors and business development personnel.


How do you spend your spare time?

My family is my passion and I try to find as much time to spend with them as possible. My favorite times are spent at my son’s hockey games or my daughter’s dance recitals – and occasionally launching a massive cannonball at them in our pool!


Anything else that you’d like to share?

The people at Dodge are what makes the difference and I consider them family. I’ve learned over the years that if you treat people fairly and with honesty and respect, then you will receive the same in return.
