How long have you been with Dodge Data & Analytics?

I started on December 28th, 2015, so just a little over two years.

Tell us about your role with Dodge—how do you spend a typical day?

I work with all the employees and contractors on their IT and computer needs. I help set up the new computers when they come in or when a new employee starts. I troubleshoot computer software, hardware, and operating systems as well as computer peripherals such as printers. I help with the network in the offices as well as ensuring all the devices connect correctly to the network such as phones, printers, and cast devices for conference room TVs. Lately I’ve been working on smaller projects that involve servers and bigger cloud systems. I go through the ticket queue for any requests users might have; however, if there are any pressing emergencies such as internal or customer facing outages I respond directly to the incident. My clients include both in-office users as well as remote users and even offshore users. The job includes such a variety of responsibilities there is never a dull day.

What do you like most about your job?

I love being able to help all end users diffuse large emergencies and calm them down when they believe all hope is lost for computer systems incidents. I really enjoy being able to provide the right help at the right time.

What is your proudest accomplishment in the past 12 months?

I would have to say my proudest accomplishment in the last year is helping move our California office from Monrovia to El Monte without having an interruption in production or downtime.

What are your priorities for the next 12 months?

My priorities are to ensure my team’s ticket queue is as clean as possible and that we respond quickly to all incidents. I am also looking to focus more on server work in the cloud and learn new technologies that can help increase Dodge’s production.

What changes in the company have you seen in your time here?

When I initially got here we were finishing up the remaining details on separating from McGraw Hill. We’ve come a long way and I’m happy to say I was a help in that process. I’ve seen shifts of focus from antiquated methods of doing things to new technology-driven advances and think that is great for business purposes.

How do you spend your spare time?

Over everything, I really love giving Bible studies and teaching people Bible truths. I enjoy reading all about tech. I spend a lot of time looking at the new and upcoming technologies. I love motorsports, fast cars and motorcycles. I also like hiking and spending time in the mountains, forests, and beaches.

What would you like people to know about you that they may not?

I once used to weigh close to 300lbs, but from December 2013 to December 2014 I lost 104lbs only by watching what I ate. I started going to the gym only after I had lost the first 60lbs.

Anything else that you’d like to share?

I’ve been very happily married for almost two years and I can’t imagine my life any better without the love of my life, Anabel.
