Understanding Project Lead Types in the BidScope Dashboard – When browsing project leads within BidScope, it’s essential to recognize the two distinct types of opportunities available:
1. ITB (Invitation to Bid) Projects
- Identification: These projects are contributed by Blue Book general contractors and feature a general contractor’s logo alongside a blue ITB icon, clearly marking them as official bid invitations.
- Submission Process: Bids may be submitted directly through the BidScope interface by selecting the “Submit Bid” button within the project lead.
2. Reported Projects
- Identification: These are gathered from the Dodge Construction Network (DCN) and are identified by the Dodge Construction Network logo, without an ITB icon.
- Submission Process: Unlike ITB projects, bids cannot be submitted directly from the project lead. Instead, the Bidders/Players section should be used to view and contact the listed general contractors or property owners directly.
Why This Distinction Matters: Understanding the differences between these project types enables a more tailored and effective approach.
- ITB Projects: Streamlined, actionable—ideal for quick submissions via the platform.
- Reported Projects: Require a more proactive, personalized outreach strategy through the contacts provided.
