How long have you been with Dodge Data & Analytics?

It was a year on August 29th.

Tell us about your role with Dodge—how do you spend a typical day?

A day at Dodge is all about working with the great teams and very passionate people. They are everywhere - Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, Finance, and Development. Each of them contributes to what Dodge delivers to the marketplace. I focus most of my energy delivering through Dodge PlanRoom and ensuring that we have the best, easiest-to-use bid management platform in the market. Recently, I’ve started to share my attention with Data Services, which will give our customers leading-edge data integration capabilities and an advantage in the market.

What do you like most about your job?

Dodge benefits from the collaboration across functional teams. I enjoy exploring features with colleagues and customers and deciding from that feedback and guidance which will serve our product roadmap best. What drives the roadmap (and me personally) is exploring the challenges our customers are having and building products that make those customers successful.

What is your proudest accomplishment in the past 12 months/your time with Dodge?

Beyond a doubt it’s being part of the team that launched PlanRoom. Dodge has expanded its presence in the market with a highly competitive and useful product. I’m energized every day by the passion and commitment of the teams I’m involved with in making PlanRoom happen.

What are your priorities for the next 12 months?

Our goal over the next six months is growing awareness of Dodge’s powerful application programming interface (API) offering and rollout of a self-service data-on-demand model for our customers. By that time, I’m looking forward to seeing PlanRoom being mature enough to sunset older legacy products, freeing up additional time and resources previously supporting technical debt.

How would you describe the value that Dodge delivers to its customers and the construction community?

Dodge delivers helpful guidance, insight, and capabilities that keep businesses strong. What was impossible to get a few years ago is now something Dodge can deliver to companies on-demand. The construction community is changing so quickly, and how and what we’re delivering to the market is a benchmark of that change.

What are the most attractive opportunities that you see for Dodge?

Dodge will become the data hub for the construction marketplace. We are in an advantage position with our News Gathering Organization and our data infrastructure for a very bright future.

What changes in the industry have you seen in your time here?

The construction community understands that data should be easy. Customers are not using Boolean queries to find their books on Amazon and they want the same from any experience they interact with. There’s no reason that finding and acting on a project, integrating a service into a CRM, or inviting 200 subcontractors to bid should be any more than a click of a button.

How do you spend your spare time?

I think it’s impossible to think anyone on the product team has spare time! But alas, I do…I have three amazing girls and we love sharing time together. Going to the beach, out for crab dinners, or any number of sporting events (including Ninja Warrior class) is what fills our time-off.

What would you like people to know about you that they may not?

This year I began obstacle course racing. It’s a sport in which a competitor must overcome various physical challenges that are in the form of obstacles. Mud and trail runs are combined with the obstacles and are designed to result in mental and physical collapse. It is a great way to release stress and has become my new obsession.

Anything else that you’d like to share?

Simply put, Dodge is changing and changing fast. There’s so much we’re offering small and large businesses and we should all be very proud of that. I know that in being part of the product team – it’s only going to get better.
