Search Criteria

The following search criteria are available when performing/saving a Project search.

Keywords

 

To search using the Keywords criteria:

  1. Type the Keyword(s) you wish to search for in the text box.
  2. In the Search using dropdown select from the following:

  3.   All Words to limit your search to projects containing all the Keywords that you entered
      Any Words to search for projects containing any one of the Keywords that you entered
      Phrase to search an exact phrase or perform more advanced searching using operators
      Note: You may use Wild Card characters in any of the search types.

  4. Choose whether to:.

  5. Search a specific area of project news:
      From the dropdown, select the portion of the Dodge Report you wish to search.
       
    Search currently bidding specs & addenda:
      Select the Addenda, Table of Contents, and/or Division(s) you wish to search.
      Select the check box to search all divisions and addenda.
       

    30 Day Spec Searching

    • The Spec Searching window has been simplified
    • Users can now search specs for any project that is either out for bids or has been published during the past month.
    • This replaces the 7-day past the Bid Date rule (or 30 days past the published date for projects with No Set Date or Bidding ASAP).  The rule change more than doubles the number of projects that can be retrieved in a spec search.

Geography

To search geographically:

  1. Select a Country.
  2. Select one or more Available States.
  3. To search the entire state, click Add.
  4. To search specific counties within the selected state(s), click Load counties.
  5. Select the counties you wish to search, and click Add.
  6. Repeat the steps above to add more regions to your search.
  7. If you wish to remove any of the regions that you added, select the region(s) and click Remove.

 

Action Stage

To search using Action stage criteria:

  1. Select from the Available action stages.
  2. Note: If you choose a main category, all of its subcategories are included.

  3. Click Add. The items are moved to the Selected column on the right.
  4. If you wish to remove any of the action stages that you added, select the action stage(s) from the Selected column and click Remove.

Project Type

To search using Project Type criteria:

  1. Select from the Available project types.
  2. Note: If you choose a main category, all of its subcategories are included.

  3. Click Add. The items are moved to the Selected column on the right.
  4. If you wish to remove any of the project types that you added, select the project type(s) from the Selected column and click Remove.
  5. Click the appropriate check boxes to Include permit projects and/or Exclude item reports.

Special Conditions

Easier retrieval of projects with special attributes

  • The new Special Conditions search category lets users quickly find projects with important attributes like ARRA Stimulus, Shovel Ready or LEED Certified

To search using Special Conditions criteria:

  1. Select from the Available special conditions.
  2. Click Add. The items are moved to the Selected column on the right.
  3. If you wish to remove any of the special conditions that you added, select the special condition(s) from the Selected column and click Remove.

Date Settings

To search using Date criteria:

  1. Select either Reported within (where you choose the time period from a dropdown list) or Reported between (where you enter the exact dates you prefer).
  2. Note: If you are planning on saving the search and running it on a regular basis, the Reported within option may be more advantageous, as the time period is relative to the current date when the search is run.

  3. Select either Bidding within (where you choose the time period from a dropdown list) or Reported between (where you enter the exacts dates you prefer).
  4. Note: If you are planning on saving the search and running it on a regular basis, the Bidding within option may be more advantageous, as the time period is relative to the current date when the search is run.

  5. Click the appropriate check boxes to Exclude projects bidding ASAP, Exclude projects bidding with no date set, and/or Include only new (Version 1) projects.

 

Other Search Criteria

Depending on your license and service level the following options may be available to you. You can add these to your search page by clicking the customize link next to the Project Search heading.

Construction Type

  1. Select from the Available Construction Types.
  2. Click Add. The items are moved to the Selected column on the right.
  3. If you wish to remove any of the items that you added, select the itme(s) from the Selected column and click Remove.

 

Ownership Type

  1. Select from the Available ownership types.
  2. Note: If you choose a main category, all of its subcategories are included.

  3. Click Add. The items are moved to the Selected column on the right.
  4. If you wish to remove any of the items that you added, select the itme(s) from the Selected column and click Remove.

 

Structure Properties

Search Structure Properties by any of the following criteria using the corresponding dropdown lists and text fields.

  • Value range
  • Square area
  • Number of buildings
  • Stories above grade
  • Stories below grade
  • Building frame

 

Trades/Materials/Equipment/Services

  1. Select the Trade(s).
  2. To search all of the Trade's categories, click Add.
  3. To search specific Categories within the selected trade(s), click Load categories.
  4. Select the categories you wish to search, and click Add.
  5. Repeat the steps above to add more Trades and categories to your search.
  6. If you wish to remove any of the Trades/Categories that you added, select the item(s) in the Selected column and click Remove.
  7. Select the Materials/Equipment/Services.
  8. To search all of the Materials/Equipment/Services' categories, click Add.
  9. To search specific Categories within the selected Materials/Equipment/Services, click Load categories.
  10. Select the categories you wish to search, and click Add.
  11. Repeat the steps above to add more Materials/Equipment/Services and categories to your search.
  12. If you wish to remove any of the items that you added, select the item(s) in the Selected column and click Remove.

 

CSI Codes (Divisions)

  1. Select the CSI Code(s).
  2. To search all of the code's categories, click Add.
  3. To search specific Categories within the selected CSI Code(s), click Load categories.
  4. Select the categories you wish to search, and click Add.
  5. Repeat the steps above to add more CSI Codes and categories to your search.
  6. If you wish to remove any of the Codes/Categories that you added, select the item(s) in the Selected column and click Remove.

Folder Options

  1. Choose whether to Include or Exclude projects in the folder.
  2. Select the Folder type(s).
  3. To search all of the type's available folder, click Add.
  4. To search specific Folders within the selected Folder type(s), click Load folders.
  5. Select the available folders you wish to search, and click Add.
  6. Repeat the steps above to add more folders to your search.
  7. If you wish to remove any of the items that you added, select the item(s) in the Selected column and click Remove.
